W535-ac-15566 at a cost of $9,098.00, and was finished on 18 Nov
1941, and was equipped
with a Kinner R-540-1 engine , c/n 6277. It was accepted on 15 Dec
1941 and received by
the Army on 17 Dec 1941.
- It was then delivered by air to the 8th Army Air Forces Flying
Training Detachment at
Sequoia Field, Visalia, Calif.,on 8 Jan 1942. The civilian contract
flight school at Visalia was
operated by the Visalia-Dinuba School of Aeronautics. It accumulated
569.4 hours by 30 Nov
1942.
- On 8 Oct 1942, it was transferred to the 10th Army Air Forces
Flying Training Detachment
at Gary Field, Blythe, California. This Ryan lead an uneventful life
training Aviation Cadets,
having never been wrecked or sent out for maintenance. It was
surplused to the
Reconstruction Finance Corp. on 22 Sep 1945 and sent to the surplus
park at Ontario,
